Amazon Studios today announced its new Middle-earth series will start streaming thirteen months from today, on Sept. 2, 2022.

The company released a concept art (or possibly an early still) from the series:

Amazon also gave a concept glimpse of its Middle-earth series, possibly showing their version of Valinor with its two trees created by the Valar.

Fans now speculate: who is the city? The distant person (an Elf?)? What age of Middle-earth is this?

For example, our in-house Tolkien expert believes this image means to show Amazon’s version of Valinor, the ancient realm also called the Undying Lands. One giveaway: the two massive, ethereal silver and gold trees in the background, called Telperion and Laurelin. Thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the angel-like Valar created these trees. The evil entities Melkor (a precursor of Sauron) and Ungoliant (precursor to Shelob) later destroyed them. Yet these great and magical trees became the ancestors of Middle-earth’s sun and moon.

What’s your take on Amazon’s Middle-earth thus far: negative, mixed-negative, mixed-positive, positive, or other?

What do you think the concept image means to show from across the vast ages of Middle-earth?

Given the utter contempt both Amazon and the Tolkien society are treating his work, I expect nothing but WOKE TRASH!
