The Lorehaven Authorship Will Help You Grow Your Creative Gifts for Christ’s Glory
This month, Lorehaven is boldly going into new worlds.1
Since 2018, our digital mission helps fans and families escape bad books and find the best Christian fantasy and sci-fi. That’s why we focus first on readers.
Still, we often receive questions from aspiring writers like, Where can I find an agent? or Will you look at my unpublished manuscript? And so far we haven’t offered much to share in that department. Instead we direct folks to fine groups and resources such as Realm Makers, Author Conservatory, or The Christian Publishing Show.
Until now.
Of course, we’ll keep promoting those groups and many others that help creators.
However, we see a growing need to share unique biblical training of authors, that is, spiritual purpose and craft cultivation for Biblical Christian creatives. So if you:
- Long to glorify Jesus in your writing …
- Make stories as a hobby for your own happiness …
- Or make stories for the enjoyment of family and friends …
- Create stories for more readers, whether Christians or beyond …
Then our new Lorehaven Authorship is for you.
Hosted in the Lorehaven Guild, the Authorship offers three member levels:
- Creative ($3.99/month). Fight for your calling. Enjoy livestreams with the pros. Discover why God created us to make stories for His glory and our joy.
- Pro Novelist ($9.99/month). All benefits for Creative members, plus your own “booth” to seek new readers in our virtual fan-centered Book Festival!
- Terraformer ($29.99/month). Get all above benefits plus more perks. Help invest in the future of fantastical fiction and expand the Lorehaven mission.
How to join? Subscribe free to Lorehaven. (Or in January 2026, just click here.) We’ll send you the Guild invitation. Once you’ve entered the Guild, look for the LOREHAVEN AUTHORSHIP channels. Then click one to see your options.
Pro tip: to avoid excess mobile charges, avoid using Discord for this on your Apple or Android devices. Instead, use the desktop app or browser version.
Here are seven top reasons to join:
- If you seek the purpose of fantastical stories, join joyously.
- If you need support for your creative struggles, join hopefully.
- If you crave creative training from expert allies, join wisely.
- If you seek faithful readers for your stories, join ambitiously.
- If you’d like Christian-made stories to grow, join generously.
- If you long for stories that are #MadeByHumans, join naturally.
- If you desire to glorify Christ in your writing, join worshipfully.
1. If you seek the purpose of fantastical stories, join joyously.
In the Authorship, published pros will train creatives in the craft of writing.
However, we’ll also help you discover your purpose for your imagination.
Why did God create you? And why do we feel this drive to create other stuff?
If you sense the need to know this greater godly mission, welcome aboard!
2. If you need support for your creative struggles, join hopefully.
If God gives us creative imagination to glorify Him, then His divine purpose will empower us for the many challenges of creating in a fallen world.
Personally, I can testify that I’ve been renewed by this biblical mission for over 25 writing years of minor wins and major losses. Often I’ve asked myself, “If I never got published as a ‘pro novelist,’ could I still write, if only for my joy in Christ?”
Even when the day job boss says, “We’re sorry, but we need to lay you off”?
Even when the editor says, “This project isn’t right for us, so no thank you”?
For hard times and happy times alike, find encouragement in the Authorship.
3. If you crave creative training from expert allies, join wisely.
I’ll put my 25+ years of creative struggles to work here. So will other pro novelists.
This reflects our shared need for training. After all, you can’t go directly from “Let’s learn great writing” to “Let’s change the world with our stories.” Don’t skip that big step in between—the step of Christians helping one another grow our creative gifts.
For example, later this month I’m hosting a fully public livestream:
How to Sell a Sci-Fi Novel in Just Twenty-Five Easy Years
Saturday, Jan. 31
6 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Pacific)
exclusively in the Guild
Future livestreams will be available for all Authorship members.
Apart from livestreams, we’ll share this training in every room of the Authorship—from C.S. Lewis’s three-stage view of story-making, to creative challenges like the “Christian” label, to the thorny issue of whether fictional characters can curse.
4. If you want faithful readers for your stories, join ambitiously.
Lorehaven has spent years connecting authors not just with other authors, but with faithful readers. So the Authorship will also feature the Lorehaven Book Festival:
- Anyone in the free Guild can visit the Book Festival to browse virtual booths.
- Yet only members at the Pro Novelist level can host their own booth spaces.
- They can recruit readers, share links, or host Q&As—for any length of time.
5. If you’d like Christian-made stories to grow, join generously.
Personally, I’d love to see more excellent Christian-made novels in the sci-fi spaces and horror places. As a reality-observant person, however, I must admit the truth:
Teen/YA women’s fantasy continues to rule the Christian-made fantastical worlds.
I foresee a timeline in which romantasy books are good neighbors with sci-fi and horror. To fulfill this future, we need spaces that honor faithful creators, where they can train to write well in genres that may seem niche today but take off tomorrow.
Lorehaven is a generational project. That’s why we call for cultural terraforming.
Maybe the Lord has blessed you with success you’d like to share. Or maybe you’re not an aspiring writer, but you want to support those who are. In either case, you can become an Authorship Terraformer, sponsoring this good work (in addition to your existing support of your family, local church, and faithful groups).
6. If you long for stories that are #MadeByHumans, join naturally.
We love stories that are made by humans.
I myself prefer leaving content-generation tools entirely out of the creative process (yes, including marketing copy). Other creators have different views.
No matter your choices, we can likely agree on this: Our Author personally made His people out of nothing. So it follows that the closer we can approach that natural creativity, the more likely we are to make our stories feel naturally human.
Even if you anticipate using generative tools for your stories, do stay human! And join the Authorship to train in these beautiful basics of human imagination.
7. If you desire to glorify Christ in your writing, join worshipfully!
Reading is worship. So is writing. This verse inspires the Authorship mission:
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
—Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
Sometimes we get too spiritual about that biblical phrase “good works,” as if these words only refer to sermons or feeding the poor. Instead this command also applies to all tasks we do for Christ’s glory, including our works of imagination.
Once you see this biblical mission in action, you can’t unsee it.
And it just might change your creative life forever.
We can’t wait to see you in the Lorehaven Guild—first as a fan, second as an author who longs to grow in this craft and create fantastical stories for Christ’s glory.
