Aoire and her friends are the only survivors, fleeing Narcissa’s deadly pursuit. After a final attack, she vanishes, taking Aoire with her, and leaving Caz near death with Retter and Laur injured and seeking refuge in City of Truth.

City of Truth. The second of five sanctuary cities. A place overseen by a blind man calling himself Librarian. A city where no one can tell a lie and those found guilty of any crime undergo Truth’s Crucible.
