Remnants: Season Of Wonder

· April 2014 · for

Called until we breathe our last … to save the world.

Our coming was foretold by the elders: Those who would change the future, just as the planet teetered on the edge of darkness.

Because we were born on the prophesied day with birthmarks in the form of a crescent moon, they knew us immediately. Swaddled and screaming, we were spirited away by those who hid us, trained us, and kept us safe until our time came.

They poured their lives into us. Some died to save us.

And now we, the Remnants, protected by Knights of the Last Order, have gathered.

Young adult dystopian/post-apocalyptic fantasy, first in The Remnants series

This one was just okay. It felt more like a traditional fantasy with some post-apoc elements than a true post apoc book. You had motorbikes, but it felt more like a pre-industrial setting overall, with the magical abilities of the Ailith. It was a decent read, but failed to hook me because of that, and because it felt unfocused.
