Updated: Fantasy novelist and mother of three Lani Forbes passed this morning, according to this update on the family’s fundraiser page:

At 11:14 Lani Carin Forbes went to sleep one last time. Though her fight was strong and courageous, our medicines were not enough to heal her, so God called her home to do the healing in person.

Fans of fantasy novelist Lani Forbes know the Seventh Sun author and mother of three has been fighting stage 4 cancer. Now it appears her story has taken a terrible turn. This morning Lani’s husband, Kevin Forbes, shared this update:

This morning Lani has taken a turn for the worse. I am placing her on comfort care and calling family into the hospital to visit. I just got permission for the kids to come see her finally. Please please please pray for strength for me, comfort for my family and peace for Lani. She has been scared for this moment, but I want to make it as beautiful and peaceful as possible for her as she enters heavens gates. No one deserves it more.

Lani’s church had scheduled a prayer vigil for Friday, Feb. 11 at Crossroads Community Church in Nampa, Idaho. Yet for any faithful saint, anywhere, including all readers of her Age of the Seventh Sun trilogy, she and her family need your prayers now.
