Book 1 of the Follower of the Word series.
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series. The author has built a believable story world, it’s well-developed, and she put characters that feel real into the world. I don’t have time for in-depth review, but I read the book a couple of months ago and it stays with me as being one of my favorite Christian fantasies I’ve read so far.
I was a little disappointed with the ending, because I wanted more wrapped up than I got, but I think when the next book comes out, I’ll be OK with the way the author left things in this first book. We shall see.
I recommend this for anyone who likes fantasy, though. The characters are three-dimensional, living real lives in a real world.
I laughed really hard at the mention of the Maiar in this review. Someone’s done some reading into LOTR’s back story. 😀
I really must try this book now.
I’m adding this one to my TBR pile! Thank you for this review.
Busse is off to a great start with her fantasy series. A must read!
