Hunter’s Moon

Sarah M. Awa’s howlingly intense drama Hunter’s Moon follows Melanie, a college student who is perfectly normal until she’s bitten by a werewolf. The changes that come over her are terrifying, but she is befriended by another werewolf, Gavin, who helps her hide what she has become. But Melanie and Gavin aren’t alone. A mysterious organization, which Gavin has reason to mistrust, is trying to recruit them. Other werewolves threaten all of them by exposing their kind to the world. Melanie just wants to survive college. But people are dying, and she doesn’t know whom to trust. Layers of plot twists keep the reader guessing, and more questions are asked than answered. Fans hungry for resolution will have to wait for the next book in the series, but they won’t be disappointed by this take on the werewolf genre.

Best for: Young adults who enjoy plot-driven stories and horror genres.

Discern: Some violence and gore, a bit of strong language.
