Elite

Apprentice Flick settles into her role as an Elite Watcher in Training in Kristen Young’s Elite, book 2 of the Collective Underground series. Manipulative people surround her, both on her side and against, seeking to make her conform to their demands. Her new faith is tested as she is bombarded with compromising orders. Relationships leave her confused and unsure whom to trust. She and the people she loves are at risk as her newfound mission leads her to take more dangerous assignments, all in hopes of uncovering the Song that will set them free. Elite explores parallels to the early Church, beautifully intertwining faith and action in this high-stakes post-apocalyptic adventure.

Best for: Young adults, any fans of post-apocalyptic stories with clear faith themes.

Discern: Some violence and references to sex as well as emotional manipulation.
